How do I import readings from another app?
Open the settings in the app and tap “Import readings”. When you first open the app, the introduction offers the same on its third page (“Do you already have readings?”). The app reads these files:
- CSV or TXT files exported from this app, with English or German column names
- Withings: the file “bp.csv” from your data export
- OMRON connect: the app’s CSV export
- other CSV files: the app detects the columns for date, blood pressure and pulse by itself; semicolon, comma and tab work as separators
- the Apple Health export (export.zip or export.xml). You create it on your iPhone in the Health app: profile picture › “Export All Health Data”
Before saving, the app shows a preview with the number and date range of the readings it found. It skips invalid rows as well as readings that already exist (same minute, same values).
To copy readings directly from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), use “Import from Apple Health” or “Import from Health Connect” in the settings. Note for Android: by default, Health Connect only gives an app access to data recorded up to 30 days before the permission was first granted. Older readings are best imported as a CSV file from your previous app.
How does the measuring week work?
The measuring week follows the recommendation of the Deutsche Hochdruckliga (German Hypertension League) for measuring blood pressure at home, for example before a doctor’s appointment. Start it on the overview with “Start measuring week”.
- For 7 days, measure twice in the morning (4 am to noon) and twice in the evening (5 pm to midnight), 1–2 minutes apart. In the morning, measure before taking medication.
- Day 1 is not counted. The result is the average of days 2 to 7, also shown separately for morning and evening.
- The app shows which readings are still missing and reminds you at the measuring times.
- The measuring week ends at midnight at the start of day 8, or as soon as all 24 readings are logged. After that, your previous reminders apply again.
The result is shown in the app for free. Creating the PDF report of the measuring week for your doctor requires Pro. Discuss the result with your doctor; the app does not diagnose.
How do I back up my data and move to a new phone?
The app does not create automatic cloud backups. So please back up your readings yourself, for example before switching phones:
- Back up: Settings › “Create backup”. The app creates a backup file (JSON). On iPhone, pass it on with “Share backup file”, for example to the Files app or iCloud Drive. On Android, share it or use “Save backup as file” to store it in a place of your choice, for example Google Drive.
- Restore: Install the app on the new phone, go to Settings › “Restore backup” and select the file.
The backup file works between iPhone and Android in both directions. Keep it safe, as it contains your health data.
On iPhone, the app’s data is also part of your device backup if you use iCloud Backup or a backup on a computer. If you set up a new iPhone from such a backup, your readings are back. On Android, the app deliberately keeps your readings out of the backup to Google Drive; use the backup file there.
How do I restore my purchases or cancel the subscription?
If you have already bought Pro, for example on a previous phone or before reinstalling, tap “Restore purchases” in the settings or on the Pro screen. You need to be signed in with the same Apple Account or Google account you used for the purchase. On iPhone, members of your family can also use Pro through Apple’s Family Sharing.
Purchases only apply in the store where you made them: buying Pro in the App Store does not unlock it on Android, and vice versa.
You cancel the yearly subscription with the respective store, before the end of the current period (with Apple at least 24 hours before); otherwise it renews automatically:
- iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions
- Android: Google Play › profile picture › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. In the app, “Cancel subscription in Google Play” takes you straight there.
My reminders don’t arrive. What can I do?
First check that notifications are allowed for the app: on iPhone under Settings › Notifications, on Android in the app’s settings under “Notifications”. Do Not Disturb or a Focus can also silence reminders.
On Android, reminders may arrive a few minutes late because Android groups scheduled events to save battery. With some manufacturers, it helps to turn off battery optimisation for the app.
Does the app assess my readings?
No. The app is a diary for readings you have measured yourself. It is not a medical device: it does not measure, does not assess your readings, does not diagnose and does not recommend treatment. The averages and the report help you discuss your readings with your doctor. If you have symptoms or very high readings, contact your doctor; in an emergency, call 112 (or your local emergency number).
How can I reach you?
Email us at apps@sprint-zero.de, in English or German. It helps if you include your device model, operating system version and app version; the app version is shown at the bottom of the app’s settings.
Please don’t send us readings, export files or backup files unless we need them in an exceptional case to reproduce a problem.
How the app handles your data is described in the app’s privacy policy. The app is provided by Sprint Zero UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Münster, Germany; see our legal notice (German).
